Staff Selection Commission (SSC) has released a Notification on its official website for the recruitment of the CHSL (10+2) Examination 2026. This recruitment is for 2536 positions. The SSC application form has started on 07 September 2026, and candidates can apply until 07 October 2026. The minimum age is 18 Years & the maximum age is 27 years as on 01 August 2026. SSC CHSL 10+2 Recruitment 2026 : Syllabus
Tier 1 Exam Pattern & SyllabusTier 1 is an objective screening test featuring 100 multiple-choice questions for a total of 200 marks with a 60-minute time limit (15 minutes sectional timing) and 0.50 negative marking per wrong answer.
- English Language (25 Qs / 50 Marks): Spot the error, fill in the blanks, synonyms/homonyms, antonyms, spellings, idioms/phrases, one-word substitution, improvement of sentences, active/passive voice, direct/indirect narration, reading comprehension, and cloze test.
- General Intelligence & Reasoning (25 Qs / 50 Marks): Semantic analogy, symbolic operations, trends, figural analogy, space orientation, classification, Venn diagrams, drawing inferences, punch hole/pattern folding, coding-decoding, and syllogism.
- Quantitative Aptitude (25 Qs / 50 Marks): Number systems, fundamental arithmetic operations, percentages, ratio and proportion, square roots, averages, interest (simple and compound), profit and loss, discount, mixtures/alligation, time and distance, time and work, basic algebra, elementary geometry, and data interpretation.
- General Awareness (25 Qs / 50 Marks): History, culture, geography, economic science, general policy, scientific research, and current events focusing on India and neighboring countries.
Tier 2 Exam Pattern & SyllabusTier 2 is divided into sessions containing objective modules, a computer knowledge module, and a skill/typing test.
- Session I (Mathematical Abilities, Reasoning, English, General Awareness, and Computer Knowledge): Includes 30 questions each for Maths and Reasoning (180 marks total), 40 questions for English (120 marks), 20 questions for General Awareness (60 marks), and a qualifying Computer Knowledge module (15 questions, 45 marks). Negative marking is 1 mark for incorrect answers.
- Computer Knowledge Module: Basics of computers, CPU, memory organization, input/output devices, keyboard shortcuts, windows explorer, MS Office, internet usage, and basic cybersecurity.
- Session II (Skill / Typing Test): Qualifying test requiring 35 wpm in English or 30 wpm in Hindi for LDC/JSA, and key depression speed tests (8,000 to 15,000 key depressions per hour) for DEO posts
